STAR WARS ‘NIEN NUNB’ ACTOR MIKE QUINN joins iccc 2022 guest star lineup
From the Death Star II to Exogol, Nien Nunb is one of the few characters in Star Wars canon to have fought to defeat Emperor Palpatine twice, along with Lando Calrissian. Now, ICCC fans will get the chance to meet UK-based actor Mike Quinn — who portrayed Nien Nunb in multiple films — to hear all about his more than four decades of involvement in the Star Wars universe.
ICCC is pleased to host Quinn among our growing roster of accomplished and influential guest stars to sign autographs, take photos with fans and discuss his amazing experiences. ICCC 2022 will be held April 29-May 1, at the Sheraton Music City resort in Nashville, TN. Tickets are on sale now.
Quinn got his first job in 1980 as a Muppeteer for Jim Henson after a childhood of love and fascination with puppetry, particularly on "The Muppet Show." That gig led him to the production of “The Dark Crystal” (1982), in which he created the Podlings and Slaves, and performed as Slavemaster Skeksis.
While filming The Dark Crystal at London’s Elstree Studios, Quinn heard that George Lucas was looking for puppeteers to work on “Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.” He was hired and subsequently appeared as Nien Nunb. He also performed the characters Ree-Yees and Sy Snootles, and assisted with Yoda, Admiral Ackbar, a Wokling, Jabba The Hutt’s electronic eyes, Ghoel, and Loje Nella.
Since Return of the Jedi, Quinn has portrayed Nien Nunb in “Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens,” “Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi” and “Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker.” He also worked as an animator on “Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.”
We are pleased to welcome Quinn as our guest at ICCC 2022! #ICCCon
