PRESERVING THE 'KENNER' DESIGN PHILOSOPHY FOR THE ICCC 2022 EXCLUSIVE ‘THE MANDALORIAN’ CUSTOM ACTION FIGURE WAVE

More details are emerging about the ICCC 2022 exclusive action figure wave based on “The Mandalorian” TV series on Disney+. Planned and plotted by D2C Studios’ Matt Brookins and ICCC showrunner Michael Havens. In this update, Brookins discusses his design philosophy in preserving the classic Kenner aesthetic in his custom wave.

“One thing many customizers do, and I am often guilty of this as well, is going a little overboard trying to capture screen accuracy versus keeping things truer to the Kenner style. So I really tried to keep the original Kenner aesthetic as intact as possible. Thus, I used parts from other figures to kit-bash this Mandalorian version of Fett.

“I did some mild touch-ups at the seams and some slight customization in a couple of spots as well. I am really happy with how it turned out given my objectives.”

The Boba Fett custom figure and the three other yet-to-be-revealed custom action figures will be available in limited quantities, and with different packaging, during all three days of ICCC 2022, April 29-May 1, at the Sheraton Music City resort in Nashville, TN.
