NOT JUST THE FIGURES: BROOKINS REVEALS CUSTOM ART TREATEMENTS FOR ICCC 2021 EXCLUSIVES

Check out the latest “mind-blowing” update from D2C StudiosMatt Brookins on the development of the ICCC 2022 exclusive wave of custom action figures based on “The Mandalorian” TV series on Disney+. This time, he reveals the art concept for the card backs.

“Similar to 2021, I wanted the ICCC Exclusives’ packaging to be all original for 2022: that meant not taking a screenshot from the TV show or using a promo picture of a character pulled off the Internet. So like before, I drew them.

“Last year I did it all on a computer, but I recently got an iPad and Apple Pencil, and started drawing on there. I loved it! In fact, I was enjoying it so much, that after I finished the exclusive figure drawings, I decided to draw a few other Mandalorian-related characters from my 41 back lineup. Before I knew it, I had drawn them all!

“I also decided to redo the race track design and template for the front card art. That means instead of having the Star Wars logo, my PoP logo, and the Kenner logo on the front, the 2022 packaging has the ICCC logo up top, with my logo redone in the style of Kenner’s at the bottom.

“I don’t want to show the official exclusive figure art just yet, because that would reveal the figures too early. However, here are some examples from the other 37 figures I’ve done. These show the overall design and approach that the 2022 ICCC MOCs will have (and the large style boxes will also have the art on the side tab).”

This exclusive wave of custom “The Mandalorian” action figures will be available on-site at ICCC 2022, April 29-May 1, at the Sheraton Music City resort in Nashville, TN. Tickets are on sale now. We believe The Emperor will be pleased. #ICCCon
