"You're in my net, Bix!" Andor's Denise Gough will make her first convention appearance in America EVER at ICCCon 2026!

“I don't like wasting time. Pull in the net and the quick thing, the easy thing, is to assume that everything you've dragged to shore is a fish. … but I take a more nuanced approach. … it seems a shame to end up on the carving block if your motivation here is money." - Dedra Meero (ISB)

Denise Gough is an acclaimed Irish actress known for her powerful performances across stage, television, and film. Born on February 28, 1980, in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, Gough faced early challenges, and menial jobs, before discovering her passion for acting. She took a Saturday acting class, borrowed the audition fee, and secured a place at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in Wandsworth, graduating in 2003.

Gough made her television debut in 2004 with a role in the long-running series Casualty, followed by appearances in popular shows such as New Tricks (2003) and Stella (2012). However, it was her stage work that initially garnered critical acclaim. In 2012, she earned nominations from the Evening Standard Awards for her performances in Our New Girl and Desire Under the Elms. Her breakthrough on stage came in 2015 with the role of a recovering drug addict in People, Places and Things at the National Theatre, earning universal praise and an Olivier Award for Best Actress in 2016. She followed this with another Olivier win in 2018 for her role in the revival of Angels in America.

Gough's career truly exploded in 2022 with her portrayal of Dedra Meero in the Disney+ series Star Wars: Andor. As a human female Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) lieutenant and supervisor, Dedra is an ambitious, intelligent, and devout Imperial officer who rises through the ranks. Her methodical and analytical approach allows her to uncover patterns in rebel activity that others overlook, while her ruthless, uncompromising nature drives her to bend rules and challenge colleagues in service of the Empire's ideology. Dedra's contempt for dissent and genuine belief in the necessity of the Empire's harsh measures make her a compelling antagonist, blending cunning with ideological fervor. The role not only showcased Gough's talent for nuanced villainy but also introduced her to a global audience, leading to heightened recognition and new opportunities. Following Andor's success, including its second season in 2025, Gough starred as the lead in the Disney+ thriller The Stolen Girl, further cementing her status as a rising star in high-profile projects.

In addition to her on-screen work, Gough remains connected to her fans through select appearances. She is set to make her only U.S. convention appearance before 2027 at the Imperial Commissary Collectors Convention (ICCC) in Nashville, Tennessee, from June 19-21, 2026. This event will also offer her exclusive private signing and send-in service in the U.S. until 2027, making it the sole opportunity for autographs or photo ops with the actress during this period in the U.S. More details can be found soon at www.icnashville.com.
