ICONIC MUPPETS CARTOONIST GUY GILCHRIST RETURNS FOR ICCC 2023 TO MEET FANS AND SHOWCASE HIS WORK

Guy Gilchrist is a name that resonates with many people, especially those who grew up in the 80s and 90s. Known also as “Jim Henson's Cartoonist,” he is behind some of the most iconic cartoon characters in history, including The Muppets, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Fraggle Rock, and The Pink Panther.

And we are pleased to announce that Gilchrist will be returning as a featured artist at ICCC 2023 to meet fans and showcase his iconic work!

Gilchrist first rose to fame when he created "The Muppets" comic strip, which was published in 660 newspapers around the world from 1981-86. He was instrumental in the creation of "The Muppet Babies," a spin-off of the original Muppets that became wildly popular among children.

Gilchrist's impressive career has been marked by numerous awards and accolades. He was awarded the National Cartoonist Society's highly coveted Reuben Award in both 1997 and 1998. He also received the Bank Street Award for Best Book of the Year in 1998 for his book series "Night Lights and Pillow Fights." The "Tiny Dinos" book series, which Gilchrist created, was also recognized by the International Reading Council of the United Nations as the Best Book of the Year for three consecutive years.

Gilchrist's creativity and authorship have made him an art icon, and his work continues to inspire and entertain people around the world. He has always been passionate about his craft and remains dedicated to creating characters and stories that resonate with audiences of all ages.
