FROM ‘MYSTERY MAIL CALL’ TO ICCC 2023 BADGE ARTIST: THE STORY OF EMERGING ARTIST LEIA CAMERON

It all started when Leia Cameron and her brother, Luke, began teaching people how to draw star wars art on the popular Imperial Commissary feature “Mystery Mail Call.” That adventure led to ICCC Showrunner Michael Havens hiring Cameron to create the highly-celebrated badge art for ICCC 2023!

We can’t wait to see her work!

Cameron is a versatile artist who is developing her skills in digital art. She is also training in traditional mediums such as alcohol markers, pastels, gouache, and acrylics. One of her biggest passions since childhood is creating Star Wars fan art. After her first trip to Nashville for ICCC 2021 her passion grew and exploded. That’s how she and her brother started the “Luke and Leia Game” on the IC’s “Mystery Mail Call” so they could share their talents with other Star Wars fans.

Cameron’s passion for art started in middle school with the help of her dedicated art teacher. She later participated in the Junior Docent Program at the Milwaukee Art Museum, where she immersed herself in the study of great artists. Her visits to the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C. further inspired her, and she was able to gain valuable insight into some of the greatest artists of all time.

This fall, Leia will be attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design to major in illustration. Her goal for the future is to make her art accessible to others and to share her love of art with the world. Bringing joy to others through her art is what brings her the most happiness.

We are elated to feature Cameron’s art on this year’s badges, which guests and fans will cherish for years to come.

ICCC 2023 will be held May 26-28, 2023 at the new Farm Bureau Exposition Center in Lebanon, TN, just outside of Nashville. Tickets are on sale now. Book a room at our host hotels before they sell out. #ICCCon
