ICCC WELCOMES TMNT ARTIST LEGEND STEVE LAVIGNE AS 2022 GUEST STAR

If you love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you should definitely head to ICCC 2022 to meet Steve Lavigne — the very first artist hired by the franchise co-creators back in 1985. Lavigne’s work is ubiquitous throughout all things TMNT, and he will be on hand to meet and engage with fans this April!

Steve was the artist responsible for creating most of the officially licensed TMNT artwork seen on merchandise, toys, video games, and product packaging in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He produced art for Playmates, Burger King, Konami, Redbook Magazine, Yes Entertainment, and more.

He also created TMNT characters Sergeant Bananas, Screwloose, Cuddly Cowlick, Code Name Chameleon among others. He and TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman attended high school together and it has been revealed in various interviews with Eastman, that Michelangelo’s personality is actually based on Steve.

Steve continues to do covers for IDW TMNT books, tours via comic conventions, and takes commissions regularly. He also owns Shellback Artworks — a Facebook page whereby fans can view current art projects & appearance schedules, purchase vintage and new comics/art/memorabilia, and/or request commission work.
