D2C Studios’ Matt Brookins and ICCC showrunner Michael Havens announced last week that legendary Kenner photographer Kim Simmons will be doing the photographic work for the wave of ICCC 2022 convention exclusive custom action figures based on “The Mandalorian” TV series on Disney+. Brookins has upped the ante on that aspect of the project by revealing that he created custom dioramas for the photo shoots. Brookins explains:

“Building dioramas is always fun. So I got excited thinking about what could be done for the 2022 ICCC exclusive figure packaging. 

“Since Luke was only in one setting, it was a matter of deciding which walls of Moff Gideon’s Cruiser I wanted to build. And because I had limited time, I decided to use references from the show for inspiration, but I didn’t want to try for 100% screen accuracy. 

“Here are some pictures I took after I fished it, and before I it shipped it to Kim Simmons for the official pictures. What he did with it was amazing, and I can’t wait for people to see his work in the final packaging! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the test images in the gallery above!”

Luke Jedi, Boba Fett, and the two other yet-to-be-revealed custom action figures will be available in limited quantities, and with different packaging, during all three days of ICCC 2022, April 29-May 1, at the Sheraton Music City resort in Nashville, TN.
